Material engineering

Composite engineering, built around the wheel.

KOYA Carbon combines a carbon-fibre rim with a selected forged centre to create a wheel system focused on response, strength and durability. The rim design is developed by aluminium wheel, rim and carbon-fibre engineers, then analysed and inspected before final application.

Technical architecture

Engineered as a complete system.

The material, lay-up, centre design and final assembly must work together. KOYA’s process brings simulation, prepreg construction and inspection into one controlled path.

  • 01Senior aluminium wheel, rim and carbon engineers contribute to the design.
  • 02Every rim is analysed using FEA computer simulation.
  • 03Toray T700 and T800 prepreg is used in the carbon lay-up.
  • 04Rims are assembled in accordance with Japanese VIA test standards.

Product advantages

Strength where it matters. Stability where it counts.

Carbon fibre brings a distinct material profile to the rim: high strength, controlled thermal behaviour and resistance to fatigue and harsh environments.

01 / Strength

High specific strength

Strong material performance relative to weight supports a lighter rim architecture without treating strength as an afterthought.

02 / Thermal

Heat resistance

Excellent heat and thermal-shock resistance supports stability through changing operating temperatures.

03 / Response

Low thermal expansion

A low thermal expansion coefficient and low heat capacity help maintain controlled material behaviour.

04 / Durability

Fatigue & corrosion resistance

Carbon fibre offers strong fatigue characteristics and resistance in demanding environmental conditions.

Controlled process

Designed, analysed, assembled, inspected.

A repeatable process connects the material specification to the finished wheel that reaches the vehicle.

Step 01

Engineer

Wheel, rim and composite engineers develop the rim and centre as a compatible system.

Step 02

Analyse

FEA computer simulation is used to analyse the rim design before final application.

Step 03

Assemble

Final assembly follows controlled requirements aligned with Japanese VIA test standards.

Step 04

Inspect

Dynamic balance, runout and other production data are checked for every completed rim.

Before you order

Carbon rim questions.

Final availability is application-specific. KOYA can confirm the centre design, size and fitment that suit your vehicle.

Do the listed prices include GST and freight?

The published Carbon prices include GST. Freight is additional and should be confirmed with KOYA for your delivery location.

How much weight does a carbon rim save?

Weight reduction varies with diameter, width, forged centre design and the final vehicle application. Ask KOYA for confirmed application-specific data rather than relying on a generic percentage.

Can I choose the forged centre design?

Selected KOYA two-piece forged centre designs can be considered for a Carbon application. Browse the KT Series, then confirm carbon-rim compatibility with the KOYA team.

How is the final fitment confirmed?

Provide your vehicle, brake package and desired wheel specification through the Fitment Check Form. KOYA can then review size, clearance and centre compatibility before an order is finalised.

Build your Carbon application

Start with the car. Engineer the wheel.

Tell KOYA what you drive, your brake package and what you want from the wheel. The team can help define the right Carbon rim and forged centre combination.
